I bought the crappy usb like a month ago and from that is really extremely slow when im downloading a file it is per secondim in the coverage so i dont know what is going on. Also i have been looking at the telstra usb contract broadband modem which says 300 rebate soo that means i have to pay 300 for the modem then get the money back after the contract ends right.

I have been living in Korea for the past few years and I have gotten used to 100 Mbit DSL speeds and 1Gbit VLan speeds and I was shocked to hear that speeds in the US are unchanged since I left 6 years ago. Returning to the slow 1Mbit DSL service that Time Warner offers in my former residence in the US is going to be a bit hard to swallow. What is the hold up with speeds in the US 6 years is practically a millenium when you consider how fast technology evolves. Does anyone know what the problem is.

Right now I have Comcast home networking and of course a comcast router. Oh my God it is so expensive. We really need to save money so if we went with Verizon DSL would we still be able to get a router from Verizon or would we have to go out to Best Buy and buy one to go with a cable modem That isnt the biggest issue but about how much would that costI just know its cheaper but we have 4 computers in tha house so we definetly need a router.
